Stars and Stripes: A Super Easy Drink for the 4th of July

New Post! Stars and Stripes: Super Easy Drinks for the 4th of July via amommaly.comHappy 4th of July! I hope that you enjoy this day with the ones you love and eat and drink and watch fireworks and fall asleep with a smile on.

Also? I made this with the kids for today and it was so easy I thought I would share it. You probably have everything you need, and it makes a great last minute idea or just a fun thing to do requiring very little effort....so, all together now, you will look like a rock star.

What You Need:
Ice Cube Tray (preferably a silicone tray to assure that your cubes come out clean and all  in one piece, if you are doing shapes. I actually got this star tray at Target last year, on clearance for fifty cents or something like that)
Clear Soda ( I used Sprite, make sure it isn't flat!)
Red and Blue food coloring
I've seen this done before using flavored Kool-Aid packets, but since I am using soda I just feel like sugarholyshitsugarrushgrossewwtoosweetcavitieseverwhere. I put literally one drop in each star.
Clear Glass Pitcher and/or Glasses and straws

What You Do:
Fill ice cube tray to the top, put one drop of color in each cube. Freeze. Empty into a bowl carefully, because, well, food coloring. With tongs, I repeat, tongs, gently drop two to three stars into a clear glass pitcher or cup filled with Sprite, or any other clear, well-carbonated soda.

Then, smile and watch the kids think you have just performed absolute magic.
